*Call to Worship: Responsive Reading Psalm 1:1-3 and Mark 9:35
Leader: Blessed is the one who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
All: But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on God’s law, he meditates day and night.
Leader: He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
All: We delight in God’s law. May we also learn to delight in God’s will, to understand His love, and to draw near to His heart as we ponder his Word: “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
*The Hymn My Savior’s Love No. 338

Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
Gracious and merciful God, forgive us for our complacent attitudes and self-serving ways. We regularly choose to be a friend of the world rather than committing ourselves and our efforts to your service. Our hearts harbor pride, envy, and selfish ambition. Give us more grace to purify our hearts, that our mourning might change to laughter and our gloom to joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon Pastor
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble…Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God, and he will come near to you… Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
James 4:6-10

Our Giving to the Lord Pastor
