Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
Just and Gracious God, we confess that we have failed to meet your expectations for your people, who are called by your name. Too easily we comply with the ways of the world. We enjoy advantages that are unavailable to many without thought for the lack of others. We do not call oppressors to account, nor do we recognize our own oppressive ways. We pass by those who suffer without concern or compassion. We are troubled when we see ourselves in truth. Forgive our sins and redeem us as we repent. Our only hope is in you and in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon Pastor

All: Mighty seraphs, burning with the glory of God, stood above him. Each had six wings – with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.
Leader: The seraphs cried out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” The doorposts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the house was filled with smoke.

Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
Glorious and gracious God, open our eyes to see our own sinfulness, that we may admit the many ways we have failed you. We are people of unclean lips, dwelling among people who deny your presence and power. We fail to consult you before making our decisions; we close our eyes to your truth; we refuse to hear and obey your commands; we do not understand your ways. As we humble ourselves before you, lifting prayers of repentance, hear and forgive us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon Pastor
In response to Isaiah’s cry for mercy, a seraph touched the prophet’s mouth with a burning coal from the altar of God, saying, “Your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” By the grace of God, Christ comes to us as Savior, to cleanse us and take our sins away. In him, we are made new and called to service in the kingdom of God.

Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
God of Unlimited Love, forgive us for the many ways, we limit your message of hope, freedom, and healing; for all the ways we fail to proclaim and enact your love. We look into the mirror, expecting to see your reflection, but the image is dim; we cannot see clearly who you call us to be. We repent of self-interest and pride, of jealousy and envy, of anger and strife. We call upon your grace to expand the boundaries of our love, that we may share the Good News of your kingdom with all people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
