Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
God of hope and blessing, we turn to you with repentant hearts, confessing sins and seeking forgiveness. We have not been faithful in service to you or presented to the world an accurate picture of your love. We have turned from your Word, resisted the Holy Spirit, and failed to perform the tasks you have entrusted to us. You set a plumb line among us that our faithfulness can be measured. Forgive our shortcomings. In your great mercy and unfailing love, grant us salvation and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Unison Prayer of Confession
Great and holy God, filled with mercy and steadfast love, we confess that we have preferred the ways of the world to your ways. We have rebelled

that in the grace of Christ you will use our weakness for good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christ’s grace is sufficient for us, and his power is made perfect in our weakness. To all who confess their sins and resolve to lead a new life, he says, “Your sins are
forgiven.” He calls us, then, to follow him.

Unison Prayer of Confession
O God, help us! When the good we have known crumbles beneath our feet and we are mired in hopelessness and self-pity, we need you.
When we cannot hide from the evil that is all around us because some of it is in us, we cry out for your saving mercy. It is easier to see the
problems than the promise. We have been more ready to complain than to accept your help. We open our hearts to you now.
We want to be healed. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
