Opening Scripture Sentence: God has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.                                                                                 Micah 6:8

*Opening Prayer                                                                                                      Pastor

*Call to Worship                                                         Responsive Reading, Psalm 15

Leader: Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?

All: He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellow man…

Leader: who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

All: He who does these things will never be shaken.

Call to Confession

Unison Prayer of Confession

God of Wisdom, Justice, and Love, you have shown us what is good, but we fall short in living according to your desire. When we refuse to do justice,  have mercy on us. When we neglect your requirement to show compassion and care for those in need, forgive us. When we fail to create and sustain relationships of righteousness and peace, restore us in grace. We have doubted the power of the cross to save. In your mercy, forgive our sins and set us free to rebuild foundations for the generations to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon                                                                                                    Pastor

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. It is because of Him that we are in Christ; he has become for us wisdom from God, that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.                                                                           1 Corinthians 1:18 and 30
