*Call to Worship Responsive Reading, Psalm 23
Leader: The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want.
All: He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
Leader: He leads us in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
All: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.
Leader: Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
All: You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over! Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever!
*The Hymn Surely Goodness and Mercy No. 463

Call to Confession
Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts, hear our prayers of confession. We have strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the desires of our own hearts. We experience darkness by our own choices. Help us to see and claim the light of Christ: cleanse us from our sins as we repent, so that with humble hearts we may draw near to you, resting in your refuge, dwelling in your well-lit house. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon Pastor
By grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Therefore, live as children of the light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) … and find out what pleases the Lord. (Ephesians 5:8-10)
