*Call to Worship from Psalm 96, John 1:1-5, Isaiah 9:2,6
Leader: Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord and praise his name, proclaiming his salvation day after day!
People: In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God! In him was Life, and that Life was the Light of all humankind. The Light shines through the darkness – and the darkness has not overcome it.
Leader: Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, for He comes to judge the earth in righteousness and the peoples in truth. The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.
All: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. Let us worship him!

Congregational Prayer: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace: We rejoice in your birth! We celebrate your coming as a baby in Bethlehem, even as we wait for your glorious return. We give thanks for your redeeming work of grace. By the power of your Holy Spirit, enable us to walk in your light and in your Way. May your hope, peace, joy, and love shine in our hearts and in every corner of the world! We rejoice in the Name of Jesus! Amen!
