Leader: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
All: that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Leader: God so loved the world that God reconciles the world without condemnation.
All: We are loved, we are not condemned; we will not perish, we will be with God forever.
Leader: We come in faith to worship the everlasting God. We are a church called to claim our heritage: our legacy of ministry was birthed by passion for telling the gospel message and nurtured by the Spirit who continues to lead and guide us.
All: Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.

Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, we seek your mercy. On this day when we celebrate the birth of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, we are aware of our shortcomings, both as a community and as individuals. Many times, we speak without love; we lack patience and kindness. We proclaim our faith in you and yet deny love of one another. We boast of what we give away but hoard the best of ourselves in selfishness and greed. We do not live the message of the gospel. For all these transgressions, we humbly ask your forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon Pastor
Hear the Good News: As far as the east is from the west, so far God removes our sins from us. As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. In Christ, our sins are forgiven! Psalm 103:12-13

Our Giving to the Lord Pastor
As Cumberland Presbyterians, we believe that we are all called by God— to serve, to minister, and to give. We can fulfill the Great Commission in the world only because we recognize our great opportunity to give of ourselves.
