Opening Scripture Sentence: Jesus answered, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) As you come to him, the living Stone, you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.                                                 (1 Peter 2:4-5)

Leader: In you, O Lord, we have taken refuge; let us never be put to shame; deliver us in your righteousness.

All: Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.

Leader: Since you are our rock and our fortress, for the sake of your name, lead and guide us.

All: Free me from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O Lord, the God of Truth.

Leader: Our times are in your hands; deliver us from our enemies and from those who pursue us.

All: Let your face shine on your servants; save us in your unfailing love.

Call to Confession

Unison Prayer of Confession

Gracious Lord, you sent Jesus to take away the sin of the world, and we admit that we contribute to that burden. Help us to acknowledge that we do things that hurt other people, the creation, ourselves, and you. As we confess our sins and repent, come into our hearts with grace and forgiveness. Show us the way to extend that grace to others; give us strength and courage to be less hurtful and more loving. These things we pray in the name of Jesus, who came to us as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon                                                                                                      Pastor

This saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might be dead to sin and alive to all that is good. (from 1 Timothy 1:15 and 1 Peter 2:24). I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
