Prelude Lighting of the Candles
Opening Scripture Sentence: Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” Jesus said to the woman who touched his cloak, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has healed you. Jesus said to the two blind men, “According to your faith, it will be done to you,” and their sight was restored. (Matthew 9:2, 22, and 29)
*Opening Prayer Pastor
*Call to Worship Responsive Reading from Psalm 33
Leader: Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him.
All: Sing a new song of praise to the Lord; play skillfully on the harp and sing with joy.
Leader: For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.
All: The Lord merely spoke and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.
Leader: Let the whole world fear the Lord and let everyone stand in awe of him. What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.
All: We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.

Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, forgive us that we live half-heartedly, brooding over life’s setbacks and our own inadequacies; we forget that every moment is alive with the power that raised Jesus from the dead and poured out the Spirit on all believers. Forgive us that we live anxiously and fretfully; we forget that no problem is outside the care and love of God. Forgive us for living selfishly, hoarding time, compassion, ability, and even our faith. We forget that life is found when we give it away. Help us to boldly yet humbly accept your grace and take up the challenge of each unfolding moment with new faith. In Jesus name, Amen!
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon Pastor
Our faith is credited to us as righteousness: We believe in God who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. Jesus was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. We do not waver in faith regarding the promise of God. We give him the glory for our salvation. (from Romans 4:20-25)
