Announcements

Prelude                                                                                         Lighting of the Candles

Opening Scripture Sentence: God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.                                              Genesis 45:7

*Opening Prayer                                                                                                            Pastor

*Call to Worship                     Responsive Reading, from Psalm 133 and Isaiah 56:1,6-8

Leader: How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
All: Harmony is like precious anointing oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, down upon the collar of Aaron’s robes. It is God’s delight, his purpose, and his abundance.
Leader: Harmony is as refreshing as the dew of Mt. Hermon falling on Mount Zion, although these places are far distant from each other.
All: For there – on the mountain of God -- the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore on all nations.
Leader: God blesses the foreigners who hold fast to his covenant. He assures all, “Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand. My righteousness will soon be revealed.”
All: God’s house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. The Lord declares, “I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered.” May God bless all the nations as they come to praise his name.

Call to Confession

Unison Prayer of Confession
Wise and gracious God, forgive us for the sins we recognize in ourselves and for the sins we do not see. Show us how we have hurt one another and grant us courage to seek reconciliation. Reveal to us our own disobedience. We seek mercy for the times we have willfully offended. May your grace cover our mistakes, intentional and unintentional, and turn our hearts to forgive others. Cleanse us and restore our relationships with you and with one another. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon                                                                 Pastor
God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew… there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. You who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy… (Romans 11:2-5, 30). In the grace of Christ, our sins are forgiven. Praise be to God!

Our Giving to the Lord                                                            Pastor
We are not our own, but belong to God, the source of all goodness and love. May our eyes be opened to see the needs around us, our hearts to care for others, and our hands to share the blessings of God in our lives.
